“Embrace relational uncertainty. It is called romance. Embrace spiritual uncertainty. It is called mystery. Embrace occupational uncertainty. It is called destiny. Embrace emotional uncertainty. It is called joy. Embrace intellectual uncertainty. It is called revelation.”

Mark Batterson, “In A Pit With A Lion On a Snowy Day”

This is a season of change and transition for me. As I consider what is next as I transition out of my current role at Bethel Lutheran, I have had a lot of time to pray and to reflect on the future. I claim to love change, but the reality is that I love the change that I control and create. I am excited about this new season and know that it will be wonderful, but I do not enjoy transition. The above quote, shared with me by a colleague has been a great tool for reflection. We must embrace uncertainty. Part of trusting God, having faith is embracing the mystery. This is often easier said than done. There is a season for everything under the sun and while this is not my favorite season, I am seeking to embracing it, knowing that whatever is on the other side is going to be amazing.
